Bra surgery

It seems like this is a common bra-issue, at least my wife has had several bras where the bra underwire is popping through the fabric in one of the ends of the channel it is sewn into.

The problem is that the fabric is not reinforced enough at the ends of the channel for the underwire. So I decided to do some bra surgery.

To do bra surgery you need surgical clamps, a good quality waxed tread and of course the best English needles for housewives.

I first cut a square piece of nice and soft leather and slightly rounded the corners before drilling holes with a 0.5mm drill bit all around the edges of the leather piece. Then I clamped the piece in the right position with the surgical clamps and stitched it in place with a generous amount of stitches. The clamps leaves some marking on the leather, but this fade after some time of use.
