The broken frog princess

Her Royal Highness, Duchess of the flower bed fell off her stick. Maybe she had been kissed to hard.

The princess and the pole was originally connected with a spring that gave her some bounce and some nice moves in the wind. The spring was rusted and broke off.

I used some 1mm stainless steel wire to make a new spring. I would have preferred it to be 1.5mm, but this was the only stainless wire I had. I wound it around a knitting pin to make the spring. My plan was to tread the spring onto the remains of the old spring, but trying to do this I realized that I had wound the spring in the wrong direction so I had to make a new one.

With the spring wound in the right direction, I could tread it on to the remains of the old spring on the princess. Then I threaded the old spring remains on the pole into the new spring.

This was a quick repair without soldering or gluing, that also means it is easy to replace the spring again if needed.
I believe her majesty has got her bounce back.
