Zero – The nightmare before Christmas

Last Updated 9 November 2024

A few years ago I got my wife the official Christmas ornaments of Jack and Sally from The nightmare before Christmas, and she has always said that they should have Zero by their side.

I found this model on MyMiniFactory, made by the user “Mag-Net” (https://www.myminifactory.com/users/Mag-Net) I think he did a very good job designing this model of Zero, I feel it really catches the “floating lightness” of Jack Skellingtons good friend.

The model comes in 6 parts, the body, the head, the nose, the collar and the two ears. The parts have some built in support that worked quite nice and was easy to remove. I printed the model scaled down to 50% in Bambu PLA Basic, with a 0.2mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.12mm.

After some sanding and cleanup I assembled the model with CA glue. I then glued him on to a toothpick and gave him a few coats of primer and white spray paint…

…before painting the nose, eyes and the collar with some acrylic paint.

I then gave him a couple of layers of clear coat.

As it was the first time I have painted a small model like this, I am quite happy with the result.

Since this was a birthday present for my wife, I also had to make a gift box for him.
You can find the 3D-design files for the coffin on: Printables

Together for eternity…
